CENTER FOR EDUCATIONAL FUNDING

Our Grants Management Services Division is designed to assist schools by preparing, tracking and managing all of their federal and state grants in order to:

• Ensure school is meeting all federal and state grant fiscal requirements
  
• Ensure school is accessing all of the grant funds available to them
• Ensure school is maximizing positive cash flow from their grants

Our Services include the following:

1.  Grants Analysis:

• Prepare Grant Status and Cash Flow Analysis Reports

2.  Grants Fund Management - throughout the year:

• Prepare annual Grant Budgets and Budget Narratives.
• Prepare timely Budget Amendments.
• Prepare regular Request for Funds Reports to improve the school's cash flow.  This allows schools to use grant funds to pay for grant-related expenditures rather than use its own money.
• Prepare draft Final Expenditure Reports for each grant at the end of each grant or as soon as grant funds have been expended.

3.  LEA Application - July/August:

• Prepare all components of the annual on-line LEA Application for ESSA-Funded Programs - due August 31st each year - to enable the school to receive grant funds from Title I, Title IIA, Title III-LEP, and Title III-Immigrant Education.

4.  Compliance with Federal & State ESSA Regs & Requirements

• Assist the school in ensuring compliance will the ESSA / Title I fiscal requirements of the US Department of Education and the New York State Education Department - which are closely scrutinized by the NYSED.

5.  State Audits and Monitoring Visits related to Title I

• Assist the school or district in preparing for monitoring visits, on-site audits and desk audits conducted by the NYSED, NYCDOE and CSI.
• Assist the school on the day(s) of the actual visit or audit.
• Assist the school in the preparation of responses related to any Findings during the visit or audit.

Strive for Positive Cash Flow

Whether a school has a federal or state grant, we want to make sure that the money gets to the school as quickly as possible so that the school can use it for the grant activities for which it was intended. 

We don't feel the school should have to use its own money, or even borrow money, to pay for grant-related expenditures.
